Why are Custom Fit Clubs better for me?
First answer these 4 questions: 1) Are all golfers the same size? 2) Do all golfers have the same strength? 3) Do all golfers have the same athletic ability? 4) Do all golfers have the same swing characteristics? If the answers are "no" then how can a a standard, off the rack set of men's or ladies clubs fit all golfers? A set bought off the rack can not allow you to be all that you can be as a golfer compared to a set built one club at a time with your swingspeed, tempo, athletic ability, coordination, and body size taken into consideration. There really is no such thing as a Junior, Senior, Male, or Female golfer per se. There are only golfers with differences in size, strength, athletic abilities, and swing characteristics. Take Senior men for example. Are we talking a 68 yr old, 6' 3", 225 lb, retired lumberjack, or a 68 yr old, 5' 5", 155 lb, retired bookkeeper? How can a golf club marked "Senior Flex", in one length, one total weight, one grip size, one flex, and one lie/loft angle be right for both of these senior players? When they start making all senior men in the same size, shape, and athletic ability, the concept of a "senior golf club" will make sense. Until then, the term is a marketing phrase and nothing more. The fact is the big golf companies will continue to spend $50 million a year to brainwash golfers into thinking the quality of a golf club lies more in the name on the sole and who on tour plays clubs with those names on the sole, rather than if the clubs are accurately and very professionally custom fit to all the differences between golfers' size, strength, athletic ability and swing characteristics. You will never be all that you can be as a golfer without being custom fit for golf clubs. The best players on the planet compete with custom fit golf clubs and nothing is stopping you from doing the same? Your clubs will be built to perform to their maximum given your swing and your game. All workmanship and clubheads carry a lifetime warranty. Each club is a direct reflection on my abilities as a craftsman and professional clubmaker. I am a member of the GCA (Golf Clubmakers Association) and since 1996 have successfully completed courses in Advanced Clubfitting, Assembly, and Repair in the United States and Canada. Most recently, I attended the 2008 Golf Clubmaker's Convention in Austin, Texas. In 2004 I completed the Master Craftsman Clubmaking Course in Austin, Texes which is the most advanced school they offer. I continue to educate myself in all aspects of clubmaking, fitting, and repair.

PGA Tour Proven
PGA touring professional Scott Verplank played with Golfsmith Forged irons, Snake Eyes Forged wedges, Golfsmith 3 and 5 metal woods and a Snake Eyes driver. Verplank won the Bell Canadian Open, Reno Tahoe Open and played on several Ryder Cup teams. Payne Stewart, prior to his untimely passing, was on staff with Golfsmith and helped design a set of "Lynx" irons (a Golfsmith line) which ended up being the last set he played in competition on the PGA tour. Ben Crenshaw was also on Golfsmith's staff playing "Lynx" equipment on the PGA "Champions" tour. Bruce Litzkie and J.L. Lewis also played Golfsmith clubs on the PGA Tour. I am not a representative for Golfsmith International or any other component manufacturer. My association with Golfsmith (or any other supplier) is as a customer only. Prices displayed on this website are not absolute. Discounts will occur depending on amount purchased.

ASK Yourself: Are all golfers the same size, the same strength, posess the same athletic ability, or have the same swing speed and tempo? If you have ever observed golfers on a driving range, you know the answer is NO! Because we are all unique with our swing moves, preassembled clubs built to standard specs (regarding length, lie, loft, total weight, swing weight/MOI, wood face angle, shaft flex, shaft weight, shaft bend profile, grip size, set make-up, etc) will very likely not allow us to play our best golf. You see, in other sports where we hit a ball with a stick, like tennis or baseball, only 1 stick is needed. Therefore, it is very easy and an absolute must for these manufacturers to cutomize these sticks to the different size, strength, and athletic abilities of their consumers. Because you need 14 sticks in golf, they can't be offered in a vast selection of different lengths, lies, weights, shafts, grip sizes, etc because the mass production assembly line couldn't handle it, not to mention the huge inventory needed and resulting inventory nightmare for the store selling them, and the knowledgeable staff needed to properly fit and build them from scratch for consumer. BEFORE you get misled by a $50 million per year marketing campaign, allow me to give you a free, 15 minute, no obligation, clubfitting demonstration before you decide where to buy...at the very least you will learn a few things. All shafts are SPINE ALIGNED and FREQUENCY MATCHED to exact flex values to FIT YOUR SWING...No big-name golf club company that you see on TV offers this shaft service to the general public. SEE my FAQ's #22 and #23 regarding MOI MATCHING and TRUE LENGTH TECHNOLOGY and #27 regarding what you should know about driver head design.
