Eidolon Satin Chrome V-Sole Wedge (RH & LH)
Used by Steve Flesch in the 2009 Masters where he was the low scorer for the weekend (68-67), and holed out a marvelous wedge shot for an eagle at #2 on Sunday to get his round kick-started...Eidolon did not pay him to use the wedges and they can't mention his name because he is under contract with another equipment company.
Other wedge soles don't look like this . . . and they don't work like this, either.
We hate those short game misses that sabotage good rounds. Chunks, skulls, chili dips, sklaffs . . . those horrid things that ruin scores and your confidence. They come from not having the right bounce in your wedge for the shot you face. But the wedge line-up from every other company forces you to make a high bounce/low bounce choice. Eidolon thought there was a better way.
So Eidolon developed a totally innovative sole design that makes wedge play easier. They won't profess to turn you into Houdini overnight, but they know they can help you eliminate many bad shots, so your short game can soar to new levels.
Their promise is simple - their patented V-SOLE technology will do more for your short game than any other wedges you could buy, or they'll give you your money back.
You'll find that this innovative design concept allows the same wedge that got you out of the bunker on #6, to be perfect from the tight lie on #8, the rough, fairway, hardpan . . . just about any lie your ball can find. No other wedges are made like this, and no other wedges can compare to the V-SOLE line-up for versatile playability.
How the V-SOLE works:
Everyone agrees that a low bounce sole is good sometimes, and a high bounce better at others. But we're the only company to actually combine the two to give you the most versatile scoring tools the game has ever seen.
With our innovative V-SOLE design, the main part of the sole has a low bounce, so that you can get down into the shot from the tightest of lies. Imagine not being afraid to pull out a wedge when the ball is sitting down!
But the leading 1/4" of the sole features a very aggressive bounce, which makes the Eidolon V-SOLE wedges look and play differently from the "old tech" wedges from everone else.
First of all, you'll find that the leading edge never digs into the turf. No more trenching! And secondly, with the two bounce angles working together, each of these wedges functions perfectly from bunkers, rough and other shots where a high bounce is desirable. In no time at all, you'll learn how to "dial in" just the right amount of bounce for any shot you face.
The other companies give you dozens of models, all with the same old sole designs you've been looking at for 40 years. Eidolon thought it was time for a better idea. Other companies don't have this technology, so they can't build wedges this good. It's really that simple.
All Eidolon can say is, "Give them a try". You'll see why the strongest Money Back Guarantee in the business has a return rate of less than one percent!
How Eidolon got its roots: After 25 years in the golf industry - a career that ranged from marketing consulting with small golf companies . . . to product design and several golf club patents . . . to an executive position with Ben Hogan Company . . . to President of Reid Lockhart/Ray Cook . . . Terry Koehler "flamed out".
"The business seemed to no longer be about helping golfers by building the best equipment," he said. "It was all about sales quotas, market share, investors, budgets, cost-cutting, staff management . . .and no fun."
He even gave thought to quitting the business altogether. But Terry Koehler's passion for the game was too deep. And his good friend and co-founder of Reid Lockhart, Ralph Thompson, pointed that out when the two of them were working together on a consulting trip in the summer of 2002.
The birth of an idea: "What if it was only about the passion?" Ralph asked. "What if it was only about building the best clubs you can? And about really helping your customers become better golfers."
So, they began formulating the idea for a new golf company . . .not one that would have any notions of "giant-killing". No, this would be a company that would focus on the one part of the game that gives golfers the most trouble - scoring. This new company would design and build great equipment, and do everything it could to help its customers improve their golf games.
A new company is born:
So in late 2002, Eidolon Golf was conceived on a cocktail napkin (actually a bunch of them) in the Louisville, KY airport. And a year and a half later, the company went "live."
The name Eidolon (eye-do-lon) literally means, "The image of an ideal". The ideal equipment technology to help your short game. The ideal way to give golfers more information that will help them score better. And, most importantly, the ideal way to build a "fun" golf company . . . fun for us and for our customers.
And that fun started with headquartering the company in tiny Port O'Connor, Texas, a remote sportfishing village where Terry had moved after selling his interests in Reid Lockhart/Ray Cook. (Production and shipping operations are in our Houston facility).
We want to be your short game company: We realize that's a big goal, in the face of market dominance by some very large companies. So we'll do what it takes to earn your trust.
We go to great lengths to ensure that each product we make is the ultimate combination of technology, craftsmanship and playability. We back each of our products with the strongest Money Back Guarantee in the business. And we'll do whatever we can to help you become a better player.
Titleist®, Cleveland® and the other giants of the industry are safe from us. They can duke it out for market share with their huge pro contracts, advertising budgets that could support small countries, and retail exposure nearly everywhere. We don't care.
What we're doing, and will continue to do, is crafting the finest scoring tools that have ever seen the inside of a golf bag. And only a few thousand players a year will be able to experience them. We hope you choose to be one of those golfers.

Ask Yourself: Are all golfers the same size, the same strength, posess the same athletic ability, or have the same swing speed and tempo? If you have ever observed golfers on a driving range, you know the answer is NO! Because we are all unique regarding our size, strength, athletic ability and swing characteristics, preassembled clubs built to one standard set of specifications (regarding length, lie, loft, total weight, swing weight/MOI, wood face angle, shaft flex, shaft weight, shaft bend profile, grip size, set make-up, etc) will very likely not allow you to play your best golf. You see, in other sports where we hit a ball with a stick, like tennis or baseball, only 1 stick is needed. Therefore, it is very easy and an absolute must for these manufacturers to cutomize these sticks to the different size, strength, and athletic abilities of their consumers. Because you need 14 sticks in golf, they can't be offered in a vast selection of different lengths, lies, weights, shafts, grip sizes, etc, because the mass production assembly line couldn't handle these demands, not to mention the huge inventory needed and resulting inventory nightmare for the store selling them, and the knowledgeable staff needed to properly fit and build them from scratch for each individual customer. BEFORE you get misled by a $50 million per year marketing campaign, allow me to give you a free, 15 minute, no obligation, clubfitting demonstration before you decide where to buy...at the very least you will learn a few things. All your shafts will be SPINE ALIGNED and FREQUENCY MATCHED to exact flex values to FIT YOUR SWING...No big-name golf club company that you see on TV offers this shaft service to the general public. SEE my FAQ's #22 and #23 regarding MOI MATCHING and TRUE LENGTH TECHNOLOGY and #26 regarding what you should know about driver head design.
